Manas Rural Development
Institute (hereinafter written as MARDI for sake the of conciseness)
is a Non – Governmental, Non-profit Organization(NGO),
which has been registered in India with the sole purpose of
spreading and delivering the knowledge of ancient Vedic practices
used in the field of agriculture. The main aim of the organization
is to train and equip farmers, with focus on small and medium
farmers, the various techniques hidden in ancient Indian Vedic
texts, on the basis of Gandhiyan philosophy of Panchakrushi,
with aim on sustainable way of living in the villages.
To promote this, MARDI is concentrating on promotion of Jaivik
Krishi based on “Systematic and synergistic harnessing
of everlasting energy sources in the Farming System. Major
emphasis is given to the proper utilization of human force
available in villages using a cluster mode approach. Jaivik
produce in the villages are certified at two stages i.e. introducing
Participatory Guarantee & Internal Control System (PGS
& ICS) and third party Certification through APPEDA accredited
agencies. This will enable consumers for quality products
and help us to dictate in the domestic and export market and
ensure better price realization to farmers.
The main objective of MARDI is development of “Model
Organic Villages” by systematic utilization and integration
of the available Natural and Human Resources for their Socio-Economic
Development in rural areas. The main sectors being addressed
are agriculture, groundwater, soil and water conservation,
development of forests, horticulture, environment ecological
preservation, animal husbandry, water management, irrigation,
drinking water and village /cottage industries. MARDI intends
to provide a platform and act as a link between SHGs, line
departments, Banks, Social Institutions and Corporate sectors
interested in rural development activities. It also aims to
coordinate and promote the programs of voluntary agencies
with Government initiatives, for the various agricultural
activities in Maharashtra and India in a phased manner.
